The crankset is the centerpiece of the new 1x Ekar system with its chainring options that cover a wide range of applications.

Of course, using the single chainring is simple: no derailleur, significantly reduced weight, fewer moving components that can collect dirt and create obstacles, and a high level of drive chain security without unnecessary chainring overlaps — the perfect solution for gravel routes. The two UD carbon cranks have axle shafts made of AISI 630 steel, in line with the skillful combination of materials of the entire Ekar group, with the purpose of obtaining lightweight components with optimal efficiency and durability. Thanks to thenew ProTech в "ў technologythe two axle halves inside the bottom bracket are connected by a single strong bolt. The oversize stainless steel bearing is located on the pedal crank and is mounted on the axle half formaximum lightness and strengthand to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance work without having to remove the bearing shells.

There are four chainring options: Adventure has 38T; Pure Gravel has 40T, Fast Gravel has 42T and eGravel has 44T. Their optimized design offers an efficient drive system and maximum reliability of the drive chain. The lightweight and durable 7075 aluminum chainrings are easy to replace: they can simply be unscrewed from the four crank arms without having to remove the crankset. The four crank arms, which are arranged asymmetrically for optimum load distribution, have a bolt circle of 123 mm. By changing the chainrings, you can easily and efficiently change your crankset while riding on different types of trails. The Ekar crankset has four different crank lengths - 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm - which are suitable for cyclists and riders of all kinds. On some gravel bikes with a low bottom bracket, the shorter cranks are most often used to avoid getting stuck on uneven and unpredictable ground. A Q-factor of 145.5 mm offers a comfortable and efficient pedaling style regardless of your body size. The UD carbon crank arms are fitted with removable protective caps at the end to keep your components as good as new on any terrain you tackle.
