In developing Aerothane Tubes, we broke new ground right from the start. The result is a high-end alternative to conventional bicycle tubes. The Aerothan is a tube of the next generation, which sets completely new standards in weight, puncture resistance, riding characteristics, ease of assembly and pack size. Specially adapted for road bikes, MTBs or all-round use.

AEROTHANE IS 100% RECYCLABLE
Aerothane Tubes are made of 100% thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) (including valve) and are therefore fully recyclable. Like all Schwalbe tubes, Aerothane Tubes can be easily and free of charge returned to Schwalbe through the tube recycling program. The material from the used tubes is reprocessed and then reused as a sealant or insulation material.

The engineers have to reconcile the apparent opposites of lowest weight and highest puncture resistance. A case for the Schwalbe Innovation Lab, where material compositions and design principles are redeveloped to create unprecedented products. This is how the Aerothan Tube was created, which not only meets but exceeds expectations for a high-end bicycle tube.
