This new addition to the Cosmic model range replaces the venerable Ksyrium Pro Carbon SL Disc. It features a redesigned carbon rim that is the lightest in its category. Its 32mm airfoil cuts through the wind, and since the rim is specifically designed for disc brakes, you'll enjoy more confidence and control on the descents.
The rim is made with a new laminate and our exclusive Fore Carbon technology, which leaves the outer rim base intact and reinforces the rim only where necessary. This saves 40g per wheel. The spokes are attached to the rim without drilling into the outer rim base, so no rim tape is required. This means further weight savings (30 g per wheel) and less labor. The new rim base shape makes it easier than ever to mount and dismount tires, and you benefit from the super-low rolling resistance of our UST Tubeless setup. No tube means no friction and more air volume means a smoother, faster riding experience. Plus, our patented elliptical spokes result in another 5 watts of savings to make you go even faster.
Our new Infinity hub model line optimizes lacing with highly controlled tension for maximum power transfer, and the Instant Drive 360 freewheel works in conjunction with our automatic bearing preload (QRM Auto) for fast power transfer, more stiffness and greater durability. The wheel is available for Shimano HG and SRAM XD Road and can be converted to Campagnolo with an optional driver body. The VR hub has a 12mm thru axle that can be converted to quick release. The rear uses a 12x142mm thru axle that can also be converted to quick release.
This wheel was designed, developed and patented by Mavic in Annecy (France). It is 100% handmade in our European carbon manufacturing facility.
