Hollowtech II
Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. HOLLOWTECH II technology was designed to produce an optimized crankset that minimizes the amount of power the rider has to apply to the drivetrain. The high stiffness of the crankset ensures the efficiency of power transmission when pedaling, while its light weight relieves the rider, especially on longer distances. To reconcile these requirements, SHIMANO developed HOLLOWTECH, an extremely lightweight hollow crank arm that has maximum stiffness thanks to forging technology developed by SHIMANO. HOLLOWTECH II sets new technological standards by integrating the bottom bracket axle with the right crank arm and thus allows higher stiffness at lower weight.

HyperGlide+ works end with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ and represents a further advancement in our cassettes and chains. It provides a dramatic increase in shifting speed when upshifting and downshifting - even with reduced pedal force. The efficiency in the race is significantly increased by a 2-3 reduced shifting time.
